Dedicated to Representing Ward 3 and Building Our Community

Who am I?

I moved to Golden 40 years ago.  It was a different place then.  Our house was on the market for several months before Bob and I purchased it.  Golden's downtown was struggling financially with several vacant buildings. There wasn't a golf course or the Community Center.

But, it was a place I knew I wanted to live.  I grew up in a town about the same size as Golden, the youngest of 9 (that teaches the importance of compromise and collaboration!).
Growing up - once I could cross Main Street safely, I could go about anywhere on my own - school, the library, the one park with the swimming pool, downtown.  Golden had that same feel for me -- a beautiful, safe place to live.  I believed the City would make a comeback.   We moved in.  I spent the next many years raising our children here and working in the telecommunications industry in a variety of roles - first line supervisor, individual contributor, expert witness, and senior director.

Even though I have lived here my entire adult life, we may not have met yet.  I look forward to meeting you and learning what is important to you about Golden.  I am here to listen.

Why Am I Running?
I have spent my entire adult life in Golden, living here for 41 years this October.  I love Golden.  I am passionate about retaining those things that we all love about Golden while moving into the future in the best way possible.

Examples of things that motivated me to run:

.  Residents and business owners have consistently told me their input is not valued.

.  Ordinance 2171 specifying what beverages a restaurant could offer on a kids' menu, now in the municipal code.  Council did not kids to have chocolate milk or soda -- an example of unnecessary regulation.

. Council choosing not to ask voters before committing to over $50M in debt to build the new City Hall and suggesting that some form of increased taxes would be required to do subsequent phases.  -- lack of transparency

. Using City funds initially to provide free charging stations for anyone's Electric Vehicle (EV) - residents or tourists.   The fees now being charged still do not cover the cost to the City.  This money could be used in better ways. -- lack of transparency

. Plans to spend almost $3 Million to put a 12-foot bike lane on a portion of Ford Street, a key North-South corridor for traffic. -- other solutions exist

I am focused on finding practical, reasonable solutions by listening and valuing different perspectives. I commit to healthy debate, data-based decisions, collaboration, compromise, and transparency.

Join me in shaping a brighter future.
